தல வரலாறு: முருகப்பெருமானுக்கு தமிழகத்தில் இருக்கும் 6 படை வீடுகளோடு ஏழாவது படைவீடாக இணைந்திருக்க வேண்டிய திருக்கோயில். குமரி மாவட்டத்தின் இந்த பகுதி கேரள மாநிலத்தோடு இருந்துவிட்டது. மேலும் நம்பி ராஜன் வாழ்ந்த இடமாக இது இருக்கிறது. முருகப்பெருமான் இங்குதான் வள்ளியைத் திருமணம் செய்து கொண்டதாக கூறப்படுகிறது. மிகவும் பழமையான இக்கோயிலில் தென் கிழக்கு பக்கமாக திரும்பி சுவாமியோடு வள்ளி இருக்கிறார். கேரள எல்லையில் அமைந்துள்ள இக்கோயில் அப்பகுதியில் மிகப்பிரபலமாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது.
